The firm's Environmental Practice defends businesses and insurers in litigation involving bodily injury, death and/or property damage claims attributed to environmental exposures from Asbestos, Silica, Lead, Benzene, cosmetic talcum powder, hazardous materials and other toxic substance exposures. We have represented companies for claims involving both property damages and personal injury from exposure to toxins, biological agents and chemicals alleging aggravation or activation of physical disease.

Stuart Cohen, Practice Chair serves as regional lead trial counsel for several clients in the defense of toxic tort claims relating to asbestos and all myriad of exposures. He represents the manufactures of asbestos-containing products, and products containing silica in cases involving claims of significant injury and death. Stu’s practice also includes the defense of products liability claims. He represents companies that manufacture gaskets, packings, brake grinders, pumps, boilers, and other industrial equipment. 

Exposures handled by the team include one time acute and repetitive long term. The areas of representation include air pollution and quality, clean up and compliance, toxic substance and tort defense, the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), ground water contamination, medical waste, oil spills, sick building syndrome, solid waste regulation, the defense of crop damage claims and pesticide application.
